Frequently Asked Questions
1.- What is the difference between health insurance with co-payment or without co-payment?
The main difference between health insurance with a co-pay and without a co-pay is how you share the cost of medical care with the insurer. With co-pay insurance, you pay a specific amount each time you use a medical service. In contrast, with insurance without a co-pay, you pay nothing out-of-pocket when you receive medical care in exchange for a higher premium.
2.- What are the types of co-payments?
The types of copayment vary depending on the insurance contracted and depend on the monthly premium paid and its coverage. That is, the lower the premium, the higher the copayment amount. Therefore, at Adeslas, we offer the following copayments to customers who want complete coverage by paying a lower premium:
- Reduced: with Adeslas PLENA
- Limited: with Adeslas PLENA VITAL.
3-. Do the coverage options change between a copayment and a non-copayment insurance?
Generally, the essential healthcare coverage does not change between a copayment and a non-copayment insurance. Both types of insurances typically offer a wide range of medical services and treatments. The main difference lies in how you share the costs of those services.
4.- How are copayments paid?
Copayments are paid directly to the healthcare provider at the time you receive the service. Typically, they can be paid with cash, credit or debit card, or any other payment method accepted by the provider. The copayment amount may vary depending on the service and will be indicated on the insurance card or in the documentation provided by your insurer.
