What are copayments?

The amounts paid to access certain services, enabling you to balance your monthly insurance instalments.

What is the qualifying period?

To request certain tests or medical procedures, you must have been an insured party of Adeslas for a certain time.

What is an expense refund? How can I request one?

An expense refund is the refund to the customer of a high percentage of the invoice, which is paid when they visit a specialist or health centre not included on Adeslas’s healthcare provider list in any part of Spain or the world.

Yes, you have an online medical advice service. To access click Medical advice. Select the option that your prefer to contact one of our doctors (telephone, video call or online form). You can plan an appointment or send your queries, as well as see your scheduled appointments or queries sent.

What does the Adeslas electronic prescription consist of?

The electronic prescription is a form of progress that expedites the service, avoids unnecessary displacements and favours follow-up by the doctor.

With this service, you can comfortably receive the prescription in your email provided by a specialist, so it is a perfect complement to the video-consultations and tele-consultations that you conduct with your doctor.

Do I have medical suppliers that offer their attention in different languages?

Through the healthcare provider list, the results can be filtered to ascertain the preferred language of the supplier. The checks will appear as active, provided that, within the province consulted, those options exist. If the option does not exist, the filters will appear as disactivated.

Through the healthcare provider list, once the search has been performed by specialism, it can be consulted by filter if the supplier provides their services in English, French or German.

Serious cases service - what does it consist of?

It can be requested by insured parties that have been diagnosed with some of the following illnesses: cancer, embolism or cerebral thrombosis, a heart attack or other heart diseases. A health coordinator will help you to resolve all these doubts and to plan the services that you will require at such delicate moment, offering you all the information that you need at all times and developing guidelines to help to better cope with the disease. Home insurance

What does water damage cover include? *

We cover property damage caused by accidental leakages of water from piping or fuel contained in deposits connected to the water grid, due to leakages of piping due to frost or failing to turn off taps, damage to the home from leakages due to defects in the sealing of joints (baths, shower trays, etc.), expenses to repair built-in piping or exposed piping and the unblocking of piping.

We do not cover damage arising from septic tanks, emptiers, headers, sewers, drains or rainwater or the repair of corroded piping or piping in an evident bad state. Nor do we cover the repair of electrical appliances, taps, stopcocks, boilers, heaters, etc., which have caused the damage or the amount of excess water consumption that you may have as a result of the claim.

What does electric damage cover include? *

We cover the damages caused by rises and falls in voltage, short circuits or by lightning to the electricity installation or electrical appliances.

We do not cover breakages due to the wear and tear of the items themselves (for example, that an appliance receives electricity but does not work), breakages of appliances under guarantee, breakages to bulbs, lamps, halogen bulbs and similar and damage caused to maintenance operations.

What does fire cover include? *

We cover the property damage caused by fire, explosion or lightning, as well as the expenses associated with extinction, salvage and clearance. Also, if your home is temporarily uninhabitable as a result of a claim covered by the policy, we will pay for the rental price of another home during the time required to repair or rebuild yours. If you have rented your home, we will compensate you for the economic loss of the rent that you no longer receive.

What does family third-party liability cover include? *

We cover property damage or personal injury caused to a third party, whose liability may be claimed —regardless of whether the origin of the damage is to the home or to the insured fixed installations —, which arise from the performance of minor works or those committed by people that live with you in the home, such as, for example, minors. We also cover the damage to third parties caused by domestic animals, provided that they have their documentation up to date and the pertinent health checks.

What does the maintenance service include? *

The home insurance not only protects you faced with an unexpected situation, but it also offers you a series of assistance services, including the maintenance service, with which you can make adjustments or minor repairs to your home. You have one free service a year, which includes call-out charges, labour and materials (in some services), to be chosen from the following:

  • Repair or substitution of the cistern mechanism (including materials).
  • Adjustment of a sanitary item: foot wash, bidet and toilet, or its lid, unless it is in a bad state (including materials).
  • Repair of leaks in radiator keys or bleeders (including materials).
  • Repair or substitution of taps or stopcocks (materials up to €90).
  • Adjustment of the valve of the shower tray or bath, when it has become displaced, or the overflow (materials up to €18).
  • Repair or unblocking of a blind, substitution of strips or non-metallic blind cords. In the case of an electrical blind, repair of the motor or of its remote control. Does not apply to vertical jobs (excluding materials).
  • Repair or substitution of the lock of the main door (excluding materials). Does not cover the repair of keys or of garage controls.
  • Small repairs to the functioning of windows, including bearings, even when it is necessary to make holes (excluding materials).
  • Small repairs to the functioning of one of the doors, both entrance doors and interior or wardrobe doors, including sliding door bearings, even when it is necessary to make holes. Also includes door planing, but not varnishing or painting (excluding materials).

What does legal protection include? *

We offer legal advisory services to resolve matters related with the family or individual area and third-party damage claims.

What do professional services include? *

If the claim is not covered by the policy, we will provide you with a network of trusted professionals to carry out reforms or home repairs, with us assuming the professional’s call out charges.

We have plumbers, electricians, glass makers, carpenters, locksmiths, varnishers, glass cleaners, joiners, builders, blind manufacturers, plasterers, carpet layerers, parquet floor layers, upholsterers, aerial installers, contractors, painters, etc.

And we also have technicians for electrical appliances, automatic doors, metallic carpentry, televisions and DVDs and general cleaners.

Does your home insurance cover assistance for pets?

The home insurance policies only cover third-party liability for damage caused to third parties by pets, regardless of their breed or riskiness.

However, through SegurCaixa Adeslas, you can take out a complementary insurance policy only for pets and access veterinary assistance and an extensive network of clinics and specific coverage for your pets (exclusive to cats and dogs).

Does your home insurance cover repairs to electrical appliances?

Through your home insurance, we cover damage that may occur to electrical appliances due to the causes included in the policy, such as water damage due to a burst piping, a fire or an electrical fault. The breakages to the appliance itself are not covered by the policy.

However, SegurCaixa Adeslas provides you with a complement to electrical appliances and leisure goods to offer you more extensive coverage in the event of unforeseen circumstances.

Does your home insurance cover a loss of keys?

The policy covers a forced lock or the theft of keys, which must be duly reported to the authorities. However, it does not cover the loss of keys.

Is the box room covered by your home insurance?

We cover both the home itself and the box room that is within the neighbourhood association or detached home, provided that it is no more than 200 metres from the main home.

What is underinsurance?

It is insuring something below its value, that is, it is the situation in which the value of the cover base is less than the real value of the asset that it protects, leading to the application of the proportional rule.

The formula to calculate the proportional rule is as follows: (Insured capital in the policy * amount of the damage suffered / real value of the insured items.

For example, if the insured item had a real value of €100 and we have insured it for 50€; if the damage is €300, the indemnity payment will be €150.

How is robbery different from theft?

Robbery is removal through violence or intimidation. With theft no violence or intimidation exists at the time of removal and the victim observes later that their belongings are missing.

Is it obligatory to take out a home insurance policy?

A home insurance policy is not obligatory, but the fact that you have taken it out offers your peace of mind and protection faced with any unforeseen event that happens in your home, with assistance 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Likewise, SegurCaixa Adeslas’s policies offer coverage to tenants if the home becomes uninhabitable.

As a lessor or a tenant, can I insure my home?

Yes, in fact, it is recommendable.

The SegurCaixa Adeslas policies offer the owners very extensive coverage and have specific guarantees, such as vandalic acts caused by the tenant or the loss of leases, faced with those unforeseen circumstances that may occur.

How can I declare a home claim?

A  claim  is  any  sudden,  unforeseen  damage  or  loss  beyond  the  intention  of  the  insured  party,  with  consequences  established  in  the  policy’s  coverage,  for  example,  the  breakage   of glass or sanitary fittings.

On  the  other  hand,  the  breakages  that  occur  due  to  the  continued  wear  and  tear  as  a result  of  the  passage  of  time  are  not  deemed  to  be  a  claim  (for  example,  the  mechanical  breakdown of a boiler).

To declare a claim:

  1. If anybody is injured or you are in danger, call the emergency services on 112.
  2. Employ all the means available to reduce the consequences of the claim.
  3. Declare the claim as soon as possible, through our website or on 900 50 50 40 or 91 489 43 17.
  4. Note down the damage to provide the greatest amount of information possible  on the claim and the damaged items.
  5. Conserve the remains, remnants and signs of the claim.

What is the compensation period for your home insurance?

Once all the documentation necessary has been received to process the claim, and if it is not necessary to provide any additional clarification or a loss adjuster is not required to assess the damage, the indemnity will be paid in a period of 48 working hours from its receipt.

What urgent repairs are covered by your home insurance?

We have emergency plumbers, electricians and locksmiths so that your facilities once again become operative and to protect your home faced with a claim covered by your policy.

Can I split the payment of my home insurance?

Yes, in the case of the MyBox Hogar insurance policy with a price at three years, it is possible to make a monthly payment without a surcharge or an advance payment with a 5% discount for Premier or Private Banking customers. For the remaining home insurance with an annual frequency, it can be split with a small surcharge percentage (2% every six months, 4.5% a quarter and 6% a month).

What are the service commitments of SegurCaixa Auto Selección?

  1. Free review of the 20 safety points: Vehicle check at any time of the year, through the partnership workshop network.
  2. Road assistance in less than 1 hour: Assistance service on main roads, once requested, through the free travel assistance telephone number 900 301 900.
  3. Express loss adjuster’s assessment in 24 hours: Visit from the loss adjuster in less than 24 hours from the date arranged for the workshop appointment.
  4. Direct repair authorisation: Direct authorisation for those repairs with a cost of less than €300 in our partnership workshop network.
  5. Express repair in 72 hours: Vehicle repair in 72 hours, with own damage to the vehicle with a cost of less than €500 at our partnership workshop network.
  6. Payment of indemnity in 48 hours: We provide compensation in 48 hours from the correct delivery of all SegurCaixa Adeslas documentation.

Breaches of commitments, except that of the review of 20 safety points, are compensated with an economic indemnity payment of €200.

How to request compensation for a breach of service commitments.

If you require compensation for the breach of any of the Auto service commitments, you can call 91 991 78 21 and 900 110 434, from Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. You can also send an email to [email protected]

You can request the review and/or compensation up to 30 calendar days from the end of the service generating the commitment.

SegurCaixa Adeslas will examine the case in a maximum period of 72h and will directly manage the application with the client and, if applicable, the management of the economic compensation of €200, which will be provided 30 days after the resolution.

What type of SegurCaixa Auto Selección scheme interests me most?

The SegurCaixa Auto Selección policy offers you different arrangement alternatives, based on your needs and on the vehicle’s age. The fully comprehensive insurance policy, with or without an excess, is the best option for new vehicles of dealers.

If your vehicle already belonged to you or you acquired it from an individual or dealer and it is up to five years’ old: we recommend the extended third-party insurance policy for vehicles aged between five and seven years old and the third-party insurance policy with windscreen cover for vehicles over seven years old.

What documents may be useful to calculate my estimate?

The calculation of the SegurCaixa Auto Selección estimate is easy and you will not require excessive documentation to obtain it. However, we indicate two documents for your use: the vehicle’s technical specifications (it will give you information on the brand, model and version) and the driving licence (it will inform you of the vehicle’s registration number and age).

Aside from the declared driver, who else can drive my vehicle?

SegurCaixa Auto Selección automatically includes drivers over 25 years old that have held a driver’s licence for over 2 years that occasionally drive your vehicle. Should any driver under 25 years old or that has held a driver’s licence for less than 2 years drive said vehicle, you must declare it to SegurCaixa so that it is envisaged and covered by your policy.

Which vehicles can I insure?

Vehicles with a Spanish registration plate (private cars, minivans and landrovers of private, professional or mixed use).

Should I declare the full fitting out of my vehicle and the accessories and optional items?

The SegurCaixa Auto Selección policy automatically covers all the standard equipment or optional items without the need to expressly declare them. It also covers other accessories without a declaration up to a limit of €1,500 (at first risk).

Can I insure any vehicle with fully comprehensive insurance?

The fully comprehensive insurance policy without an excess can be taken out for new vehicles of dealers. If the vehicle already belonged to you or you have acquired it second hand from an individual or dealer, you can opt for the fully comprehensive insurance with an excess, extended third-party insurance or third-party insurance with windscreens.

What additional coverage can I add to my SegurCaixa Auto Selección policy?

The different SegurCaixa Auto Selección policies offer the most extensive market services, since they are thought out to cover the needs of all drivers, both due to their personal characteristics and to the type of vehicle to be insured.

However, you can extend your insurance policy with the following options:

  • Management of fines and loss of points
  • Replacement vehicle (due to accident or theft)
  • Extended travel assistance, which, aside from the road assistance of your vehicle and people in the case of need, includes an extensive road assistance coverage for the vehicle, such as the towing of the vehicle off ordinary roads, mechanical advice by telephone, assistance for people and urgent medical assistance on trips.
  • Extension to €60,000 of the accident protection for the driver due to death or total and permanent invalidity.

What valuation does my vehicle receive in the event of a total loss or write-off?

In the event of the total loss of your vehicle, the indemnity payment will be as follows: in the first two years, and provided that you are the first owner of the vehicle, we will compensate you for the replacement value (for the price of your new vehicle) If the vehicle is over two years old or you are not the first owner of the vehicle, we will compensate you in line with its market value (for the acquisition value of your vehicle, in accordance with its age and characteristics).

Do I have coverage to appeal fines and the loss of points on my driving licence?

We offer you the possibility of also taking out coverage for fine appeals and the loss of driving licence points. We will advise you by telephone of the fine appeal procedures to be followed. Likewise, we will manage disclaimers and ordinary appeals against these penalties under the Road Traffic law. Furthermore, SegurCaixa Auto Selección covers you for the registration expenses for a road re-education course to fully or partially recover points, from the loss of four points onwards.

SegurCaixa Accidentes Completo is the individual accident insurance policy devised by SegurCaixa Adeslas exclusively thought out for our customers. It covers the payment of capital in the event of death or absolute and permanent invalidity as a result of an accident, during the insured party’s private and professional life.

Does it cover partial invalidity?

The SegurCaixa Accidentes Completo policy, as coverage that stands out, also insures a percentage of capital in the event of partial invalidity, as established in the scale (loss or complete loss of use of a finger, hand or leg, etc.).

Who is it aimed at?

It is aimed at any person aged between 18 and 64 years that needs to insure their family and themselves faced with unexpected situations (loss of an arm, of a leg or death), and their customers that, due to their profession, habits, etc. are sensitised as a result of the possibility of suffering an accident.

Death insurance

Am I insured for life?

The policy has a lifelong nature hence, once it has been taken out, it will remain in force until the insured party decides to end the contract or in the event of death.

Do I need to include myself in the policy?

You can take out the insurance policy without being an insured party, thereby enabling various policies to be taken out for the whole family and a different burial place to be chosen for each policy.

What will my insured capital be?

The insured capital is established automatically based on the cost in the town selected for the burial. It is earmarked to cover the funeral service.
