Discover the history of SegurCaixa Adeslas from its creation until it became the leading health company in Spain.

SegurCaixa Adeslas is the leading non-life health insurance company in Spain in the area of health insurance, included in the Mutua Madrileña Group and in which CaixaBank has an ownership interest. Its Executive Chairman is Javier Mira and Javier Murillo is its Director-Managing Director.
In 1990, the Agbar Group became the leading shareholder of SegurCaixa Adeslas. At this time, it began the leading health insurance concentration process in Spain, which culminated in 2002 with the alliance of the Agbar Group and Malakoff Médéric, (social welfare group located in France).

In 2010, Criteria acquired 99.77% of Adeslas’s share capital from Agbar and Malakoff Médéric to merge it with SegurCaixa, the non-life insurance company of SegurCaixa Holding (subsequently, the VidaCaixa Group), the insurance group of ”la Caixa”, included in Criteria CaixaCorp.

Since July 2011, the company has been owned by Mutua Madrileña (50%) and by the VidaCaixa Group (49.9%), the ”la Caixa” insurance group, now included in CaixaBank.

Nowadays, with nearly 50 years’ experience, SegurCaixa Adeslas is the leading health insurance company with a market share of over 28%. Furthermore, the company operates in the remaining non-life areas: Home, Accident, Car, Death insurance and others.
